The advantages of network marketing are numerous. You can create many revenue streams, make residual income, sell great products, and connect with some terrific people.

But let’s face it…what gets people interested in network marketing, can be boiled down to one word: LIFESTYLE. Yeah, that elusive concept that gets us all drooling. Trips, cars, swimming pools, philanthropic activities, and overall CONTROL over our lives.

But is it possible for the average person to achieve this? Well, statistically speaking, it’s not. Most people that start off with great intentions, never get to the point where they are making a living, let alone achieve their ultimate lifestyle.

Why is this? The hard reality is that the average person is not willing to work hard enough or long enough to achieve what they say they want.

For the few that will make it, it only comes down to 4 cornerstones…

1. Mindset – Without proper mindset, it doesn’t matter what business you are in. Believe in yourself. Read books, go to seminars, avoid the news. Put good stuff in your brain and your heart every day. Apply what you are absorbing.

2. Training – Learn from the best. Get a mentor. Find a system that has good training. Again, apply what you are learning. Take a little at a time, and be patient with yourself.

3. Systems – All successful business people have systems in place .
They have ways to learn, generate leads, brand themselves, and daily action plans. The system that I use is really helping people to be successful in network marketing because it brings in ALL of the 4 cornerstones.

4. Action – Without daily consistent action, you will never be successful in network marketing and as a result, you will not be able to experience the advantages of network marketing. If you want to get other people interested in network marketing, be active. Get your mind right, get trained, use a good system, and TAKE ACTION!

Through action comes knowledge
Through knowledge comes growth
Through growth comes relationships
Through relationships come recognition
Through recognition comes results
Through results comes wealth
Through wealth comes lifestyle.

It doesn’t happen overnight, but if you align yourself with the right people, it can happen efficiently. To learn how to be effective in all 4 areas, go to

THE FOUR CORNERSTONE SYSTEM

I will see you there!

Best,
Shecky

No Excuses Summit Review And Testimonial

Posted by: Shecky | Comments (1)

On the weekend of July 9-11, 2010, 900 (yes nine HUNDRED) of the top Internet Network Marketers converged on The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas to make history.

The event was hosted by Raymond Fong and Fernando Ceballos, two of the top SEO experts in the world. They were able to convince the top marketing experts in the industry to come together just for one weekend, for a no-holds-barred training, mindset, and networking event the likes of which will never be seen again.

The talent and energy in that room was incredible. In a word….electric! I made so many new friends, rekindled friendships with others, and connected with so many powerful people. The No Excuses Seminar was just that. A chance to learn from the best, and realize that anyone can be successful, if they just apply the knowledge….no excuses!

Do not ever underestimate the power of live events. Aside from the incredible training, they are a way to greatly accelerate your growth.

I have no idea if there will be another event like this. But, if there is….don’t miss it. NO EXCUSES!

To your success,

Shecky

I Got Choked Up During The SuperBowl

Posted by: Shecky | Comments (2)

OK, it’s not what you’re thinking. Sure, it was great to see the underdog win, and I’m very happy for the city of New Orleans, but let’s face it…the commercials are usually better than the game.

In this case, it was Google’s commercial. Yes, Google. That behemoth that we all love to hate. So, did Google waste millions airing this commercial?

So incredibly simple, so incredibly powerful. And here’s the best part: You and I can make videos just like this, on our own computers! Did you see actors? No. Did you see any fancy graphics? No. Just compelling music that stirs your emotions. Simple. Effective. STELLAR marketing.

Do you agree?

One of the biggest challenges we marketers face is how to write content. Providing good useful content for our subscribers, prospects, and community at large is not always easy. To be sure, many of us nag ourselves, saying “gee, I’d better make a new video, or write another article.” That pressure can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.

What has worked for me is to take things from your daily life. I’ve learned to find lessons in the little things. Here’s an example…

The other day, I was enjoying a nice healthy stir-fry at one of my favorite local hangouts. And although I try not to eat the fortune cookie, I ALWAYS open one up, and read what’s inside. Here’s what my fortune said:

fortune 300x150 How To Write Content, Or...Whats In A Fortune Cookie?

“The man who doesn’t read good books has no advantage over the man who can’t read them.”

I thought about this for a moment, and found it to be very profound. So many of us have incredible advantages over other people in the world. We have food, money, shelter, and of course LITERACY. We can read, digest, learn and improve ourselves. This is a HUGE advantage over a person who was never taught to read.

I came away from this with two lessons…

First, we should never squander our literacy. If we can read, we should. As Jim Rohn would say “It isn’t what the book costs; it’s what it will cost if you don’t read it.”

Second, finding content is easy, if you are open and aware. If you want to figure out how to write content, look for lessons in your everyday events. Life is more interesting and meaningful when you strive to learn something from everything you do. You never know, you may find a great topic in your next fortune cookie!

Best,

Shecky

Finding MLM Keywords

Posted by: Shecky | Comments (2)

I have coached many people who are trying to promote their MLM online. The most common challenge that I see people struggling with is finding the right MLM keywords. Let’s face it…finding the right keywords is the cornerstone of any online marketing effort. This will affect your Network Marketing articles, your MLM videos, and ultimately your Search Engine Optimization.

When I first started marketing online, I used to just produce MLM articles and Network Marketing videos based on what I thought people needed to learn. This was STUPID. I did not place any importance on what people were searching for, or how much competition there was for those search terms. The GOAL of proper MLM keyword research, is to look for opportunities to properly serve our industry.

So how do you find these keywords? Actually, its easier than you think. And you can do it all without fancy expensive software….

First, start with an idea. Think of some of the challenges you have had in starting your online MLM efforts. What were the things you needed help with? Start with some VERY broad terms, like “MLM training,” or something like that.

Second, go to Google’s external keyword tool. You can just “google it” if you want to find it! As long as you have a Google Adwords account, this tool is free, and very powerful. Simply enter your search term in the main field (leave the synonyms box checked), enter the captcha, and off you go. You will see results that show how many searches have been done for your main MLM keywords and related searches. Look for terms that have good global monthly searches. I typically want at least 100 searches, but preferably in the thousands. You want this number to be AS HIGH AS POSSBLE. Now, use the little “add” feature to bring over your desired keywords into a list on the right.

Next, go to Google. Yep, Google…the regular search engine that’s part of our daily lives. type in each of your saved search terms with “quotations” around the whole search term. Hit enter, and now look at the total number of pages that are returned. You want this number to be AS LOW AS POSSIBLE. I typically look for terms that have 20,000 or less pages.

So, what have you done? Well, in a couple of minutes you have now found MLM keywords that have a good amount of people searching for things, with very little competition for those terms. Do you think that presents an opportunity? Of course it does!

Now, start looking through your list and think about those opportunities. What kind of MLM articles or Network Marketing video can you create using these MLM keywords?

This process is very simple, and there are all types of sophisticated softwares out there to help with keyword research, but if you’re just getting started, you are now seeing how easy it can be finding MLM keywords.

Connect with me on my site or any of the social media sites. Let me know how this simple procedure has helped you.

To your success,

Shecky

There are many different strategies for getting traffic to your sites, but the most misunderstood is probably SEO, otherwise known as Search Engine Optimization. SEO is truly the difference between REAL marketers and amateurs. When done correctly, SEO can generate a lot of very targeted, free traffic to your sites.

Of course, if this information got into the wrong hands, it could be deadly!

See for yourself….

Lately there has been a huge increase in the number of people using Social Media. As such, many leaders are now being barraged with comments and questions from their legions of followers. Here’s a quick lesson in how to handle this situation correctly….

A Slap In The Face, Facebook Style

Posted by: Shecky | Comments (8)

Last year, Facebook became the Number 1 social networking site in the world, passing up MySpace.  As such, it is used extensively for networking, especially amongst online marketers.  I use Facebook, along with Twitter and YouTube, as an important piece of my social media strategy.  I have made many great contacts on Facebook, and usually log in a couple of times a day.

Early one Sunday morning, I woke up and sleepily wandered into my home office.  I had a few messages on Facebook, so I tried logging in, but was shocked to receive this message…

  • “Your Facebook account has been disabled for violation of our Terms of Service.  If you feel that your account has been wrongly disabled, please click here.”

WHAT!?

My throat got dry.  I started getting sweaty.  I had made almost 3,000 friends already.  Without an account, I would not be able to direct people to my videos, articles, and press releases.  I would not be able to network with my contacts.  I wouldn’t be able to joke around with my friends!  This was NOT good.

I had to do something…QUICKLY.  I started sending emails….first to the dispute center, then to the help desk.  Eventually, I received an automated email response:

  • “We have received your email.  We will review your request and get back to you shortly.”

That’s it?  Ouch.  Well, at least a glimmer of hope.  So, I waited a few days.  Nothing.  So, I waited another few days.  Still nothing.  This was really beginning to frustrate me.

After some research on Facebook’s site, doing some searches online, and through friends on Twitter, I learned that mine was not an isolated case.  Many of the Social Media sites have been disabling accounts.  I recently had some friends…fellow marketers, who had their YouTube accounts shut down.  You can read about it here: “Playing Nice With YouTube.”

facebook1 A Slap In The Face, Facebook Style

It seems to be the norm that Social media sites simply disable your account without warning, leaving the user bewildered.   They have no regard for the user, and their Terms of Service (TOS) leaves you with little to no recourse.  In most cases, their reasons for disabling are legitimate….users are posting copyrighted material, promoting illegal activities, or just not playing by the rules.  But this was different.  What had I DONE?

I finally sent a letter with an angry tone.  I think I may have even mentioned something about contacting my attorney.  Yuck.  I hate doing that, but I was DESPERATE.  Finally, after 3 WEEKS, I got an email stating the following:

  • “Hi Jeff, Thank you for providing this information. Facebook has limits in place to prevent users from running programs that automatically scan the site for certain content. Although this was not the case in your situation, viewing or refreshing pages at a rapid rate may cause your account to be disabled. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide more information about this system. However, after reviewing your situation, your account has been reactivated. Please significantly slow down the rate at which you browse Facebook and refrain from violating any of Facebook’s Terms of Use. You should also avoid using systems or products that automatically refresh Facebook pages. Further misuse of the site may result in your account being disabled again. We appreciate your cooperation going forward.  Thanks for your understanding,User Operations Facebook.”

So apparently, my infraction was “using their site too heavily.”  Yikes.  Of course, I’ll never do THAT again.

From my research, here are the things that may keep you from getting banned on Facebook:
1.    Don’t use a fake name.
2.    Don’t join too many groups.
3.    Don’t post too many messages on a wall or in a group.
4.    Don’t friend too many people too fast.
5.    Don’t lie about your education or employment.
6.    Don’t poke too many people (seriously…get a life!)
7.    Don’t advertise your app on wall posts.
8.    Don’t use duplicate text in multiple messages (no cutting & pasting).
9.    Don’t use the email client too heavily.
10.  Don’t post offensive content.
11.  Don’t use any scripts to scrape information from Facebook.

Of course, if you do get banned, your ONLY recourse is to email them.  Here are three email addresses that I would recommend:

disabled@facebook.com
appeals@facebook.com
info@facebook.com

The lesson here is BE CAREFUL.  If sites like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube are an important part of your marketing strategy (and they should be), then take the time to actually READ the Terms of Service (TOS) for these sites.  Make sure you are playing by the rules.  Do not abuse your account.

So, if you don’t want your face slapped, PLAY NICE.

Still living in fear,

Shecky
